Food Service/Cleaning Person:

Voyageurs Expeditionary School is seeking applications for a 6 hour per day Food service/Cleaning person for the 2015-2016 school year. This position will be 30 hours per week for 42 weeks starting August 24, 2015 through June 10, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (1/2 hr unpaid duty free lunch).

Personal requirements: Ability to maintain a cordial and positive environment with Middle School and High School youth. Able to pass a background check (no felonies or charges that would prevent you from working with youth); driver’s license required; Benefits: Health insurance; Life Insurance; Short Term Disability. Hourly rate of pay: $13.00.

Requirements: Able to perform general daily maintenance and light repairs (clean bathrooms; sweeping; mopping; dusting, vacuuming, wash walls, windows, empty trash, etc.) for 3 hours per day and able to serve and clean up lunch (3 hours per day); able to perform heavy lifting (up to 40 pounds required).

Native American Home School Liaison/Cultural Advisor

Voyageurs Expeditionary School is seeking applications for a 1.0 full time position (.6 cultural liaison; .4 classroom teacher) for the 2015-2016 school year and beyond for an extraordinary individual with a passion for working with youth and teaching Native American Studies to students in grades 6-12.

Responsibilities for this position include working closely with students, families, classroom teachers, and other organizations to provide assistance to our Native American students to ensure they achieve their highest level of success. 

In addition to working with students as a cultural home/school liaison, we anticipate this position also taking on some classroom teaching responsibilities in the form of teaching Native American arts/crafts and other culturally relevant courses.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Social Work; teaching or experience working with Native American youth; (MN Teaching license preferred or the ability to obtain permission from the Board of Teaching/MDE to teach classes such as a Community Expert)
